London Olympic Park

Stratford

The creation of London’s Olympic Park was one of the largest and most significant urban regeneration projects ever undertaken in the UK. The 2012 Olympic Games created a unique opportunity for the redevelopment of an entire urban district in London and the AECOM masterplan, which we started working on in 2005, provides the framework for creating a completely new community on the site, closely integrated with the city and existing transport infrastructure.

In the years following the Games, a host of new projects are helping develop new, thriving communities in the area. AECOM’s planners have continued to be involved in the legacy of the Games, most recently achieving a successful planning application for the £1.1 billion East Bank development on Stratford Waterfront which will be home to Sadler’s Wells dance company, the BBC, the Victoria and Albert Museum and a new campus for the University of London’s College of Fashion.
