Our Brisbane, our legacy

We know how special Meanjin (Brisbane) is and it’s time the rest of the world knew too! With our stunning subtropical climate, diverse economy, exceptional outdoor spaces and rich cultural history, it’s time we let our secret out. Bringing large scale infrastructure delivery and long-term planning to South East Queensland won’t only transform our region, it will increase the need for smart, sustainable, integrated and accessible infrastructure for everyone. The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games is our opportunity to leave an inspirational legacy which will be felt for future generations, implementing urban environments and critically resilient infrastructure that provides opportunity for everyone. This is our Brisbane, our legacy.

A commitment to carbon neutrality from day one. A first for arenas, globally.

AECOM is serving as lead designer of Intuit Dome, future home of the LA Clippers. The iconic new arena and event venue is designed for optimal and intimate engagement of community and fans and will raise the bar for every major sports franchise in the world with regard to sustainability through design and fan experience.

Carbon neutrality has impacted decisions across the entire project development process, from initial planning, through design, initial construction efforts and venue operation. Beyond design, a shared commitment to sustainability was a factor for the naming rights sponsor, Intuit, and founding partnership with Aspiration. Intuit Dome will be naturally ventilated, fully electric through batteries and solar power with enough on-site energy storage to power a basketball game or concert and have no net new greenhouse gas emissions. It will feature a comprehensive waste reduction program to eradicate landfill waste onsite and extensive programs to improve regional air quality.

Intuit Dome has committed to the annual monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions and transportation impacts, a first for a large-scale venue, which will ensure sustainability goals and promises are met, and also provide the data to help drive broader community transformation to a low carbon future. SEQ2040 - Growing better

We recently delivered the SEQ2040 - *Growing Better* report, which discusses population predications for SEQ and the need for robust community dialogue and a more engaged private sector, in order to capitalise on our competitive advantage now, to ensure we are ***growing better***. The recommendations include developing a smart region status, a strategy for jobs and housing to shorten commuting times and develop regional precincts, a “rail renaissance” and integrated investment. Unlocking these recommendations through a deliberate and cohesive approach will be the key to structured legacy planning and fast-tracking critical infrastructure for the Games.
