Laying foundations for a new future:
Our response to the coronavirus pandemic
Throughout our history, AECOM has been committed to delivering a better world in which people and communities thrive. That focus has not changed. However, it is time to recalibrate what we know. We are marshalling our global expertise to facilitate a smooth – and safe – return to service alongside creative, innovative thinking to shape our collective future.

Business resilience
In each of our markets, we have been doing our part to help contain the spread of coronavirus and enable a safe work environment by following the lead of our safety and health experts, as well as guidance from the World Health Organization and government agencies.
AECOM has restricted all non-essential travel until further notice. Our global travel system had been tracking the past travel movements of AECOM employees, which allowed us to enforce appropriate isolation and self-quarantine measures as recommended and appropriate. Policies will be regularly reviewed to align with local government guidance.
AECOM has withdrawn from all industry events requiring travel until further notice. Furthermore, we have prohibited attendance at non-business essential public forums and we are not hosting internal or external events. Policies will be regularly reviewed to align with local government guidance.
AECOM already supported flexible working practices and was well-positioned to comply with all government stay-at-home orders; as such, our employees, workforce and infrastructure is well equipped to support mobile working. Nevertheless, we have added resources to our IT team to support continuity for employees working remotely.
To support the safety of essential work at our offices, we have introduced additional cleaning and disinfection programs. All offices are equipped with hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes at central hubs and at shared workstations. Increased communications and advice relating to good hygiene practices have been implemented across all internal channels.
In addition to regular internal updates delivered via email and via tele and video-conference to our remote-working office-based employees, our field/seconded employees are adequately informed of the various policies, preventive measures and guidelines introduced, and aware of the support available to them. We are hosting briefing sessions with office leaders to ensure they are equipped to deal with questions from their teams.
Staff based in clients’ offices or working on off-site projects are following AECOM guidance. Where a client introduces additional measures, AECOM staff are heeding the advice provided by the client. We are continuing to review our off-site projects and joint venture commitments, and will provide further, timely advice in collaboration with clients.
We plan for agility and constant improvement. Our Organisational Resilience Standard and response protocols ensure we remain equipped to deal with any potential disruption to our supply chain.
