Gino Rapagna

Vice President, Program Delivery, Global Program Management

Program Management strategies are most successful when we as people come together to create solutions that enable us to work more effectively.

“Look around you – what you see is what we do – we build societies.”

This is how Gino describes his work to family, friends, and others who ask, and it is this applicability to everyday life - and the legacies they help to create - that keeps Gino excited about our projects and programs, and committed to our clients and communities. Having led several major civil infrastructure programs, Gino has seen greatest success when owners, consultants and other stakeholders work in an integrated, highly collaborative manner to achieve great outcomes for the communities we serve. “It’s a great feeling of achievement to come the end of an endeavor, see real smiles on the faces of those we’ve worked with for many years and recognize that we, together, enabled great benefit for the community.”

Dissolve boundaries, harness teamwork

“I drive my team members to create their own success by working closely with others toward common goals, and I guide my clients and counterparts to enable success through the dissolving of boundaries.” he says. “Remove the boundaries, and diverse teams will develop into an integrated, tightly-knit unit that will achieve much greater things than if they had worked across unseen boundaries. This not only enables broader success and achievement of greater outcomes, but also drives people to work harder and allows some fun while doing so!”

Embrace the technology, empower the people

Gino sees advanced digital technologies as a great enabler of program success. “The appropriate use of digital technologies enables us to better communicate and more efficiently analyze information and make decisions. But, having great tools does not guarantee success. Success is enabled by the smart use of the tools we have at our disposal.” Gino reinforces that great programs integrate the right combination of people and tools. “Not all programs are the same and we must select the right combination of people and best-practice technologies to fit with our clients, serve their needs and achieve the greatest programmatic outcomes and benefits. In the end, it’s really still a people business. Advanced tools will only serve us well if we understand their power, relate that power to needs, and commit to using them. Program Management strategies are most successful when we as people come together to create solutions that enable us to work more effectively.”
