We were asked by the City of Richardson to develop an integrated transit-oriented development (TOD) master plan, smart cities toolkit, and economic development strategic plan that combines a new Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) rail and bus multimodal center at Arapaho Station with a new urban innovation district built on the historical birthplace of "the telecom corridor." The station area serves as the gateway to Richardson’s Innovation Quarter, a new mixed-use district anchored by R&D technology companies, university research centers, and social entrepreneurship groups. The work combines our technical strengths in station area design with our understanding and passion for developing innovation ecosystems, community master planning, and how to execute them through economic development frameworks.
