We were an integral part of the LA 2028 Olympics and Paralympics bid team, developing the concept to create a transformative Games which will encompass multiple clusters/venue sites across Los Angeles. Los Angeles’ legacy with the Games is one of community support and engagement of the range of cities that comprise the broader metro area from oceanfront to urban and suburban areas. The city’s focus was and remains a Games Concept designed to be sustainable, fiscally responsible, inclusive and one that maximizes existing venues. LA28 will be the first privately financed Games since 1984, which also took place in Los Angeles. The LA28 Games Concept was developed to fully utilize the massive ongoing investment in transportation by the region and will not require the construction of any additional transportation infrastructure beyond what is already planned for the region.
We served as the primary technical and design lead for the Bid Committee, managing and coordinating input from key stakeholders including the International Olympic Committee and international sport federations, as well as partners, such as existing venue owners and public entities. Our scope of services for the bid include design, cost estimation, transport planning, and sustainability consulting services. Our in-house Transportation team leveraged their knowledge of the transportation planning and larger program development slated for Southern California to develop a transportation plan that will effectively serve the Games.
