Originally developed to provide a sustained economic thrust for Singapore by increasing land for New Downtown and expanding the Central Business District (CBD), Marina Bay plays a significant role in enabling Singapore’s low carbon future.
Significant planning on Marina Bay and Greater Southern Waterfront areas in the heart of the city-state, will help to create approximately 1 million new jobs.
To support this, we applied comprehensive SSIM™ strategies and design solutions to ensure a more sustainable city center. Our expert teams developed a customized sustainable development framework to measure, evaluate and monitor the sustainability performance and identified gaps and areas for improvements. We also developed workable and integrated sustainable design and engineering solutions for urban design, urban microclimate, landscape engineering, water management and sustainable transport.
Our work on Marina Bay, resulted in the adoption of a new master plan by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and sustainable strategies leading to an implementation task force in government agencies.
