A new research institute located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus adjacent to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. This new world class research institute utilises the strengths of the University of Cambridge, Papworth Hospital and Addenbrookes Hospital to improve patient outcomes.
Atria provides world class research facilities for cell, molecular and translational research together with a clinical research facility for ‘first into patient’ studies and procedures. It also provides an educational suite for clinicians, healthcare professionals and other institutes on the Campus.
The highly sustainable, BREEAM ‘Excellent’ building is located adjacent to the new Papworth Hospital with an underground link for patients and staff. A joint venture between the University of Cambridge and Papworth Hospital, Atria provides approx. 8,500 square metres of research laboratory facilities, open plan dry labs, offices and educational facilities together with an outpatient and inpatient clinical trials unit, incorporating two four bed wards and two single rooms.
Atria plays a vital role in helping to improve patient outcomes. It supports the efficient translation of research from bench to bed, facilitating treatments that will save lives.
