Wesley Place is a vibrant cultural and commercial precinct with three commercial towers rising from the historic site. Seamlessly merging business and lifestyle, the CBD precinct comprises the flagship 130 Lonsdale Street, the soon to be completed 155 Little Lonsdale Street and the recently refurbished 150 Lonsdale Street. The 1.1-hectare site offers one of just four urban green spaces in Melbourne's CBD. The 500 square meter urban park is surrounded by heritage buildings including The Manse, School House, Caretaker’s Cottage and Wesley Church; all of which were beautifully restored and repurposed. The Wesley Place precinct design and orientation was focused on connection within the precinct and welcoming the public into the public realm.
Over the duration of the project our team consistently presented opportunities for efficiencies and innovation. We presented an innovative structural system that ensured the project would progress, while saving the client time and money. We collaborated with our specialist global geotechnical and vibration teams to provide comprehensive advice during the critical protection works notices period, which enabled the project to continue to schedule. We explored alternative design solutions through systemized technology, parametric optimization and digital engineering for the Wesley Place Precinct, ultimately delivering a design solution that maximized net lettable area and increased tenant flexibility.
