Working collaboratively with North Ayrshire Council, we’ve provided a whole life cost assessment for the Upper Garnock flood risk management scheme in Scotland, allowing robust business case reviews to be undertaken throughout the project.
To facilitate a robust whole life cost estimation our cost consultants and engineers worked closely with North Ayrshire Council to develop detailed construction and operational costs for the project. This was based on market analysis, benchmarking other projects and experience of maintenance requirements for similar structures. We reviewed the scheme’s optimism bias based on the uncertainties at the stage of the project and the findings of the risk review to ensure robust costs assessments to feed into business case reviews.
