The Environment Agency (EA) has set itself a target of reaching Net Zero by 2030. Therefore, tools are required to effectively measure and report on its progress both on an organisational and project level. As part of this journey, our cost intelligence specialists are developing the EA’s Cost and Carbon Tool (CCT).
Providing a combination of cost, carbon, analytical and economic assessment expertise, we are working alongside the EA and an enterprise IT solution provider to develop this integrated cost and carbon estimation tool for use throughout a project lifecycle.
Aligning with the Government Construction Strategy 2016-2020 and drawing on the estimating assemblies concepts we have developed for clients in multiple sectors, this pioneering solution will revolutionise EA’s investment decision making, help meet its 2030 net zero ambitions, and influence best practice throughout Whitehall. By taking a holistic view of cost and carbon, the tool assists in providing a more accurate measurement and reporting mechanism.
