AECOM undertook PFAS contamination investigations and risk assessments at Sydney Airport. The works included information review, inspections, groundwater monitoring, as well as soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water and biota sampling and analysis and infrastructure sampling (concrete). The project also included the delivery of Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and human health and ecological risk assessment (HHERA) reports. Airservices’ objectives were met on time and on budget in the delivery of site contamination reports, HHERAs and remedial options evaluations.
